At just 8 days young, the sweetest little baby girl came to my Kansas City newborn and baby studio. Her big sister came along, and was far less apprehensive with me this time around, thanks to breaking the ice at their mom’s maternity session a few weeks before!
During the newborn session we did some laughing during the family portrait part, made some absolute magic during the family/baby poses, and then this little miss slept like a champ through the bulk of her solo portraits. She did give me “a look” towards the end, but more about that in a bit!
Isn’t she beautiful, and perfect?! She was just so peaceful and content, and a dream to work with.
The parent/baby images we made are some of my new favorites for sure! The love and pride they have shines through, and I love the posing. You know what’s even more important though? Their daughter will adore and cherish these images as an adult! That is what this is all about!
Ah, the perfection of those sweet little details! The deep ridges in the foot, the tiny toes, the flakey skin that only lasts a week or two…. so much to love! And if you focus enough, you can almost smell that glorious newborn baby smell. Bliss! (Can you tell I love my job?!)
And finally we come to “the look”. It’s not often an outsider can see a strong family resemblance right away, especially when it comes to a facial expression, but this look I kept getting towards the end was exactly the same look her big sister gave me throughout the maternity session. This scowl definitely was inherited, and she’s perfected it at only 8 days old!
Congratulations to this wonderful family! You make a beautiful family of 4!
