Newborn Session at the Overland Park Studio

Smile! It’s time to view the gorgeous images from this baby girl’s newborn session, held at the new Overland Park studio. This sweet girl came she was brand new, and what a beautiful session it was. Extra fun was that this was a repeat family – I also did big sis’ newborn session! Love, love, love when families cycle back for more sessions, whether it’s a new baby, a milestone, a birthday, as a high school senior {gasp}, or just due for a family update.

Isn’t the new heart bowl fabulous?! I was so excited to put it to use this day! See that dress big sis is wearing? That’s from my studio stash, and she absolutely loved running around in it.

Quick note about that second picture you see above, with baby girl’s head resting in her hands…. That’s commonly known as the “froggy pose”, and I want everyone to understand it is never safe to try to balance a baby like that! One startle and they could be so easily injured. If this is a pose you love, then when looking for a newborn photographer you need to ask them if they know how to safely accomplish this pose. How is it done safely? With Photoshop. That image above was created using two separate photographs and then editing the support hands out of the picture. Baby was completely comfortable, and more importantly, she was safe.

Curious what this session looked like behind the scenes? You’re in luck! My assistant took plenty of behind the scenes footage this day, and it can be found on both our Instagram and TikTok channels – just search FacesYouLove in both spots.
