Tis the season – back to school time, drinking and eating pumpkin flavored things when it’s still 90 degrees outside (ha!), and people start thinking about scheduling an update on family pictures!
I’m not sure why most people don’t think about this until fall, as the world is perfectly beautiful other times of the year as well, but it is what it is. If you’re one of these families, I suggest you move from thinking to acting, and get the ball rolling on your next family portrait session. My fall portrait calendar is filling rapidly, and I know I’m not alone in that in the Kansas City photographer community!
And to those reading this and thinking “Helen, I thought you only photographed babies and pregnant bellies!” – your thought is a common one. While it’s true that 70% of my calendar is filled with the babies and bellies, I do still also photograph Kansas City families, high school seniors, and professional headshots!
Consider the below as “proof” {wink} This sweet family is one I’ve known for a while, but had never had the opportunity to photograph until earlier this summer! I’m so glad I had the chance, before they moved!
This session actually started at the studio, for hair and makeup time for mom and her girls! Kimberly of The Piercing Beauty did hair on all three, and makeup on the oldest daughter and mom. Did you know this is a standard service with most of my sessions? It makes for a pretty amazing experience overall!
After we wrapped with the included hair & makeup portion, we headed just down the street to this beautiful location.
Notice pictures of mom and dad on their own there? I’m always happy to (and encouraging of) updating your headshot during the family session. A fresh profile photo on social media or updated on your website can give a huge boost to your visibility!
